I asked this before but I didn't check the "Watch this topic for replies" so I can't find the original post. Do Crown shop pets take on the same level as your character?

No, they start at "hatchling". They are still worth buying, IMO.

Do you know how to search for a subject on the boards? Over to the far left near the "play" button is the word "search" with a magnifying glass icon, click on that. You can search by board name or title.
