Gift Cards - More than Wizard's?

So, a few days ago I bought a Pirate101 gift card at GameStop for $20. When I put in the code, I expected 10,000 crowns or two months worth of membership, since Wizard101's gift cards are only $10 and you can get one month worth of membership or 5,000 crowns on Wizard101 or Pirate101. However, it gave me the same options as a Wizard101 gift card would but for twice the price. It only costs $10 for a month of membership online for Pirate101, so why is the gift card this much?
