Monquista to Skull Island

I can fly my ship from Skull Island to Monquista, but not from Monquista to Skull Island. Why?

You can fly your ship from Monquista to Skull Island. There's a Stormgate where you exited from Skull Island to Monquista, and you can go back the same way. It's not the most visible.

The other option is to hit the skull on the bottom left of your screen to take you direction to Skull Island.
