Why can't I stitch slashy shooty weapons but but I can stitch every other weapon

Some weapons just can't be stitched because of internal animations or powers (Moo Tower weapons for example). You must also only stitch weapons that are exactly alike in stats and type.
Agility to an agility, strength to a strength; and a slashy/shooty to a slashy/shooty for instance.
