Uga Buga learns no new attacks?

Ok, so can someone tell me why uga buga learns no new attacks when i promote him. It really gets on my nerves, wagyu sanjuro has the same problem, will this ever be fixed?

This also holds true for Sergeant Shepherd, Fin Dorsal (When you witness him as an enemy he does have different attacks, the Companion Fin does not), Malik, and I am sure, many other Crowns Shop Companions.
