Is it good to get a hospitile at level 61?

So I see this quest and it shows me a companion and weapon and others, but I'm only a level 61. Should I do side quests first?

The higher your level, the higher the hoplite's level will be, I suggest you recruit him when you are level 63, this will make him at level 65.

The way I see it is any time I can get another gnarly companion to help me out is good.

Companions are always useful no matter their level, but the higher your level is the higher theirs will be, and if your at maximum level, then you will get a companion that exceeds the level cap!
