Gift Card Pet all the same look

Ok / here is a ? for the powers at KI.
Each month the gift card pets change names, but they look the same.
Is there a reason you can not change the look on them each month as well?
even a color change would be nice and it would give us more reason to collect them all.

I hesitate to support anything that might drag programmers away from working on the next chapter [pause to crack the whip], although otherwise it would be nice for color variations.
