What is the talent Bloodsucker?

Ahoy there pirates!
So I was on my hedgehog pet, and when I got him to lvl 10, he got a talent called Bloodsucker 2. I was a bit confused on what this talent does, so if any of you guys know, that'd be great!

If he is wounded, a portion of the damage he deals out in melee will be converted to healing.
