This is a nice feature in most online games. It makes it much easier to see what has changed, instead of being surprised upon logging on to the game. At the very least, a link to the patch notes would be a big improvement.

Along the same line, using the launcher to announce when the servers will be down. (This may be a feature already, I'm not sure, as I have never been near my computer when scheduled maintenance is being performed.)
