This is a bug I reported some time ago and it has not been fixed. When you use a doubloon to summon something (e.g. Mark of Skull Island or Mark of Death) there is a chance that it will appear in a square where you or one of your companions are going. This problem is compounded when playing with others.

Will this bug ever be fixed?
It's not a bug, it's part of the game. Movement is affected by order in which it takes place: doubloons go first, so the summons shows first even though it will likely take the "spot" of our companion. This also happens with any summons cast by you or others.
