Ebon the Cowardly Hydra

I got to the hydra fight today, and after about 30 minutes of killing heads on heads on heads of Hydra, Ebon wouldn't show up! Half of the screen was Cobalt, Scarlet, and Amethyst. No Ebon. Please help! I scared Ebon away, then I killed the other three, and it said to kill Ebon. The Invisible. He wasn't there. Please help me.
