Multiple Fight Glitch

It seems that this scenario happens fairly often:

You enter a room to talk to a character.

The character then summons a group to fight you.

You fight the group, and you then go back to talk to the character again.

The character then summons the same group to fight you again.

This happens when accosting the book borrower in Valencia, and again, in Jack Russel's promotion, when trying to find Captain Hande in Scrimshaw.

not only jack russel. it happens to the other companions too.
also that was VERY hard.
doing it twice is so irritating!!
