Dont like changing ships...ship overhauls

Ok. I got an idea...well, sorta. Some people like getting different ships. Me? I wouldnt mind keeping one a little while longer. How about being able to upgrade a ship that you like. Maybe either using crowns or gold coins for the overhaul. Of course your ship level cant go over your nautical level. Example. My Bucaneer had the heavy ship from scrimshaw. I really liked that ship alot, that I used it up into cool Ranch. Of course I got boarded a lot because the ship level and life of ship was to low. Now I dont have it...I miss that ship. got a new one with higher level. Maybe their could be an option to level up a ship you like with gold or crowns. So you have the option of changing ships at new worlds or keeping a ship you like by upgrading it. What do you think? KI? Anyone? Any feedback is good feedback for this idea.

I would like to improve the level of my ship so that I can keep them longer, but I think the whole point of the current system is to make folks spend their gold.

I personally would like to see more ship equipment available at vendors. It really doesn't make sense for me to have to attack the Threepenny Rake over and over and over again just for one Spurred Oak Anchor or a new horn for my raft...

....that I will eventually abandon for a skiff in three or four more main quest missions.

As you rise in Nautical Levels, the vendors should have more ship equipment available for purchase so that you don't have to farm ship equipment from enemy vessels. A lot of conflict arises between players that compete for spawn locations and not everyone is courteous or friendly about it.

What I really want is the ability to sell ships that I don't use anymore. Even if I only get 40% total value for the ship and the equipment, the gold from the sale can go towards a new ship or better equipment. I currently have a Monquistan Skiff, so there is no way I will ever use my raft again. I should be able to sell the raft and the corresponding equipment.

I just realized that their is not any good equipment for Pirate origin heavy ships. Yes I know that you cant purchase them in other worlds. But I like the heavy pirate ship. I dont like a lot of the other ships. This is why I like the idea of upgrades to ships. Maybe making new equipment for heavy pirate origin ships. How about being able to purchase a pirate origin heavy ship from Cool Ranch somewhere. For now I just keep getting boarded...which is fine I guess. Anyone else like just the regular heavy pirate ships

Frankly, I much prefer the European wooden ship era look over the others (IMO, the bison ships are just silly, and don't even get me started on those lantern sails in Moo Shu). I'd love to be able to upgrade to a similar looking ship regardless of world or even to overhaul an old favorite. Especially ships bought with real money. I want to be able to use them until I get tired of what they look like instead of retiring them (and why can't I pass on those ships to my other pirates?) because they're losing fights all the time in a new world.

not sure why there seems to be so little interest in this.

Having more equipment at vendors is a good idea. Need more equipment for Pirate origin ships Having the option of either buying a new ship or leveling up you want to keep Dont give up.

Interesting idea....

What of those of us that have already spent 100s of thousands of gold investing in ships and ship equipment already? I actually have a pirate with a full fleet of ships (every ship available in the game except gamecard ships). I guess it doesnt matter, lol I had to spend the gold on something, constantly hitting gold cap can be a pain.

Is this mainly about a ships "look"? They spoke of some form of ship stitching in beta, but as time goes on, I think such an option maybe less likely.

I have played several different pirate games, and most had ships that could be upgraded, but only to a point. They also usually had different class ships, and you couldnt upgrade a lower class ship above one of the higher classes. So if you wanted the more powerful ships you would still have to buy a more powerful ship class. For example, it makes sense there would only be so much you can do to upgrade a skiff, and a skiff should NEVER be as powerful as a Galleon.

You are right...I like my heavy ship from Scrimshaw. My Witch doctor stilll uses it in cool Ranch. Heavy ships should be the stronger ships of course. so yes it is about "Looks" for me. I like one of the medium ships. i would upgrade that to. Even though it would never be more powerful than a heavy ship. This could work...jus another option for players. And you still have to spend either crowns or gold to do it. I'm still looking for drops for my heavy ship, but empty handed of course...any more ideas??? Thanks :)
