Vanishing companions

I was doing quests in pirate101 and it said I could get a new companion in the crown shop i looked at them and they looked quite cool so I was thinking of getting them next time i get crowns. But when i did some more quests and unlocked another companion in the crown shop the other companion was gone! please help with this bug.
