Companions, and Bundles

Hypothetically if I bought the Empire Bundle twice and used them on the same pirate, would I have 2 of the same companions (which doesn't make sense and I think would be impossible), or would I exchange the companion for crowns or gold or something like that?

Ahoy!

You would need to give the companion to another one of your pirates, since you can't have two of the same.
