“Ah yes, I remember him, he rescued me from… what was it um….Ah, it was the Armada prisoner ship. His name? Oh, his name was…was…Able Justin- no, hmm…Scout J- no, it was… Sly Justin, ah yes Sly Justin Young. Yes he was a marvelous Captain, he had destroyed the …the, oh it was just big. I remember like it was yesterday,” said the Marleybone veteran.
“Are you sure, you’ve had a lot of trouble explaining yourself already, I mean you are 70?” asked the grandson sarcastically.
“Of ‘course I’m sure, I took care of him when he was just a baby. Why, when he was your age he learned to be a quick shot with a rifle. He grew up so fast, it was hard to keep track of time. And now he’s a Marleybone Admiral, you’d never thought.”
“Grandpa, I’m confused, how did you come to take care of him.”
“Well Rookie, his parents had come to me, for me being a good friend and all, to take care of him while they were gone. Well they never returned, all we had to confirm was a letter from a captain from a nearby ship saying that his parents had been shot down, blown to pieces really, by the Armada. It was a sad day for me, having to take care of a baby was hard work. Especially to see him wanting to go into the Her Majesty’s Royal Navy. He and I started to head out and shoot cans with my musket.”
Then in a more relaxed tone he whispered, “Ahh, the good old days, but then a royal commission went out to every able bodied soldier commanding us to get on a ship and go out to war. When I left Justin at the Isle of Dogs’ I gave him to a special orphanage called Old Boz. That was last time I saw him until that day he rescued me from the clutches of the Armada…”.
Sly Justin Young enjoyed the breeze of the cool night air he’d been used to it in Marleybone. He had just stolen his way into Marleybone through a yellow windstone on the general’s table at Port Regal. His main crew members were Handsome Rex (First-mate Bulldog Commodore), Gracie Conrad (Dog Engineer) but everybody calls her ‘Grease’, Shiruku Neko (Cat Ninja), Bonnie Anne (Fox Highlander), Ratbeard (Rat Admiral), Wing Chi (Crane Doctor and Adviser), and Private Ash (Dog Demolitionist).
Justin was happy to be home again, except for the part where he started a war in order to free a prisoner where Catbeard managed to fit in and start it all in the first place. All Justin could think was getting revenge on Catbeard until he learned of the map Catbeard had. The Marco Pollo map that was given to Catbeard. That was another concern though; Justin had come to the Isle of Dogs’ to meet some old friends. Yes, that is what he had really come for.
He prepared his Regal Falcon in order to dock. He exited his ship onto the docks and walked into the town with his trusty storm rattler, Prince Buster.
He surprised the kids at the Old Boz Orphanage, and even helped them with their finances. He also went to go surprise Yeller, but when he knocked at the door a stranger appeared and told him to beat it. Justin was surprised this was supposed to be Yeller’s house.
He went to the Royal Navy offices stationed in the Isle of Dogs’. He went to one of the captain’s and asked, “Have you heard of Yeller before.” The captain just ignored him and left.
He went to another captain and he did the same. Next he burst into the Admiralty Foyer and yelled in a frustrated tone, “Does anyone know where Yeller is stationed at?!”
Admiral Dogget came up and replied, “Yes, he went on a cargo ship in Hamamitsu, that’s when things turned bad. The ship had been shot down by the Armada.”
