April Showers bring May flowers! Here’s to hoping for a bright and sunny forecast for Pirate101 for the rest of 2015! As for March, we had a really fun month that introduced a long anticipated Bunnicorn pet and that had our fan sites running some really cool contests for really great prizes!
Read on for a look back on the month and a few fun articles.
Rogue's Gallery: Bishop
We’re kicking off a few new spotlights on some of the most notorious bad guys in the game starting with a very pesky member of the Armada you may have encountered in Marleybone . . . Bishop.
“Welcome to the Pirate101 Rogue’s Gallery. Subject, Bishop.
A member of Kane’s Inner Circle, Bishop’s primary role is the development of new weapons for the Armada. The Dragoon and Battle Angel are his greatest triumphs, and he is continually tinkering with the materials to create electrical weapons far more powerful than sparkthrowers – his Galvanic Staff is the most recent prototype.
Bishop’s secondary role is that of strategist: Kane usually prefers to create military strategies personally, but he delegates this role to Bishop when other matters demand his attention. While Rooke is the undisputed tactical general of the Armada, Bishop chooses the primary objectives for a given military campaign, and ensures that the clockwork armies have whatever supplies or forces they need to achieve their ends.
Like all of the Inner Circle, Bishop’s origins remain mysterious. Some say that Bishop, like all of the Inner Circle, was built by the same genius who created Kane. But others theorize that Kane assembled Bishop himself. Nobody has ever asked Bishop directly, and those who speculate about the matter too loudly tend to disappear.
These Pirates and more await you when you play for free at Pirate101.com.”
Books for the Cultured Pirate
There you are my Pirate friends! As you may know, Valencia has a wonderful selection of foods, but nothing as exotic as . . . the taco. Excuse my drool while I talk about this spicy creation with a crispy shell. Delicious! We also have some interesting pets, but nothing as amazing as a Dragon. Mooshu might be a better place to look for dragons.
Why do I bring up dragons and tacos to my pirate friends? It’s a wonderful book I’ve been reading called “Dragons Love Tacos,” by Adam Rubin and Daniel Salmieri, and I think it’s a great book for Pirate 101 fans. Why? There's a pirate dragon (well, a dragon who dresses as a pirate for a costume party) and quite a lot of buried treasure (if you can call jars of salsa treasure).
What else is in the book? A lot of dragons who eat a lot of tacos and cause a lot of very funny havoc. This picture book will make you laugh (and make your younger brothers and sisters laugh if you read it to them). Don't try reading it without tacos in the house because you'll definitely want a taco after you finish reading it!
The Hidden Hybrids in Pirate101
The Pet Detectives of Pirate101 have been on the prowl for new hybrids, and a lot of fun discussion has been happening as well. Don’t miss these great posts by Swordroll and the Stars of the Spiral.
Also, check out these two new hybrids that have been discovered in Pirate101:

Farming Events!
Pirate101 has been hosting some interesting new “farming” events. First we had our Pillow Fight and then last month we had a “House Warming” Party where players hunted down really rare furniture in high level areas.
In case you missed the chatter, here’s a few links to catch you up:
It’s a fun chance to win Crowns and prizes, so be sure to join us with a return of the Pillow Fight on April 4th! It is National Pillow Fight Day after all.

All the Fun Days of March
Did you know that we celebrate all kinds of fun days and events on our Facebook and Twitter pages? Make sure you’re following us on Social Media to join in the fun! Here’s a few of our “days” we celebrated in March:
Hello again, Pirates. Welcome to Vadima’s Sanctum. I see you come to me wondering about . . . the wealthy moguls of Skull Island, specifically our new friend Miracle Mitch. Let us peer into my Crystal Ball.
I see that Miracle Mitch has indeed performed many miracles for our Pirate Companions who, indeed, sometimes need a miracle to heal back to their best. Miracle Mitch does charge quite a bit for his services.
GASP! He is indeed wealthy! Let us explain in three different terms to see if we can relate his wealth:
If one gold was equal to one dollar in real world money, Miracle Mitch would be the 736th wealthiest person in the world and a billionaire.
If one gold was equal to an ounce of gold in real world money . . . he would be far above the wealthiest person in the world.
If one gold in Pirate101 was roughly equal to a penny, Miracle Mitch would still be retiring comfortably . . . and drowning in pennies, right along with several of our wealthiest player pirates.
The visions fade Pirates! Thank you to Andrew Death Blade for his question.
