Rogue’s Gallery: Nausica
We’re doing something new for Rogue’s Gallery this month and looking at one of our Bundle Card companions that previously had been a bit of a mystery...while still being a fan favorite! If you’ve purchased an Empire Bundle from our online store, you’ll know exactly how awesome it is to have Nausica on your side during combat. We’d like to clear up a bit of the mystery from her past, so read on!
Subject: Nausica
Home: Aquila
Weapon: Bow
Occupation: Huntress
The daughter of a mighty Centaur chieftain, Nausica spent her childhood roaming the wilds of Magnesia, fighting monsters and exploring alongside her four younger brothers. When at home she learned all the ancient histories and epic poems from her tutor, Chiron, and hoped to someday have adventures worthy of an epic.
As she grew older, however, she had less time for quests and odysseys: Nausica was expected to become a leader in the tribe, but she found that she hated responsibility, and wanted to run free like the winds. All that changed, however, when the Centaurs went to war with the Amazons. Nausica fought in several battles, and was horrified by the truth of war, which until then she had only known through heroic ballads and epic poems.
The Amazons were mighty foes, and the chiefs of the Centaurs began to worry that they could not win this fight. Remembering her ancient histories, Nausica recalled that Aquilus had made a pact with her people when he was carving out his new Empire: perhaps the Eagles could help the Centaurs in their hour of need?
Nausica undertook a great quest to recover the Imperator’s Standard, lost to the Aquilan legions in the wilds of Messenia. Nausica won the standard and returned to her tribe, only to find the war had been resolved, ended by the heroism of a strange pirate from distant lands. Impressed with her deed, her father released Nausica from her obligations, naming one of her brothers as his successor. Nausica sailed away with the Pirate, seeking adventure beyond even the bounds of Aquila!
Puppet Pirates
Boochbeard: "Can we switch sides? I don't think this head likes me too much..."
Gandry:"No can do, my friend. When we're dealing with someone as two faced as this, I'd rather stay on the good side!"
