This summer is heating up in Pirate101! We’ll be celebrating this month with our usual fare of Patriotic Items and also trying to cool things down later in the month with a throwback to more wintery times with a Christmas in July celebration. Until then, perhaps something else may help splash away that summer heat.
June was a great month in Pirate101. Let’s review some of the happenings in our Pirate101 game:
Launched both our new Green Vine and Golden Eagle Mounts.
We had a HUGE online bundle sale, a pet-a-palooza sale, and celebrated with our Sail into Summer Sale, where you could save big time on cool ship stuff in Pirate101.
Introduced pirates everywhere to our new Skeletorus pet and held a grand #SpiderFight on KI Live to celebrate!
Speaking of spiders, have you picked up your new Rock Spider pet from the PvP Vendor?
Thanks for playing Pirate101! Read on for more fun with fans and our regular articles.
Rogue’s Gallery: Lt. Springer
Back in May, we had a request from Helpful Aurora Parker on our Message Boards to give a bit of extra lore on Lt. Springer. We’re happy to answer her request here in our Newsletter and shed some light on this very stately fellow. Enjoy!
Name: Lieutenant Springer
Home: Marleybone
Weapons: Heavy Rapier
Born to a wealthy merchant family, Desmond Springer grew up in Walruskburg, where his father presided over the tea trade between Polaris and Marleybone. His tutors tried to teach him much about history and the sciences, but what Desmond loved most was swordplay. He practiced with the finest swordmasters of Polaris, adopting a fighting style that was at once elegant and formidable.
The Penguin revolution changed Springer’s life forever. His family was forced to flee Polaris to escape the mob, and the cessation of trade between Polaris and Marleybone left his family destitute. Desmond eagerly joined the Royal Navy as soon as the Napoleguinic Wars began – for him, the conflict was personal. His early years in the service were hard for him: Desmond’s Polarian swordplay and affectations earned him the scorn and ridicule of his fellows. But Springer turned his curious upbringing to his advantage: he used his knowledge of the Penguin language to help decipher enemy intercepts, and his lessons had made him uniquely qualified to predict Polarian strategy. Springer attracted the notice of his first captain, and he found himself fast-tracked to become an officer. By the end of the war, Springer was a proud lieutenant with a distinguished record of service.
Springer found peacetime much less to his liking, and started to consider a new career. Just then, a young Pirate appeared to offer him an extraordinary opportunity...

Screenshot of the Month!
We’ve been getting a few more screenshots for Pirate101, which is hugely appreciated. Thank you so much for remembering to send your awesome shots to community@pirate101.com so we can share them with the rest of our fans on Facebook.
This month’s winner goes to Virtuous Vanessa (or Vanessa Mythdust as some Wizard101 fans know her)! Vanessa sent us a great shot of Gracie Conrad about to break Bishop into several pieces for reassembly.
Nothing “haywire” about this shot...go get ‘em Gracie! Thanks for sending us this great screenshot.
Fan Art Spotlight!
We’d love to see more fan art in our community inbox! If you have an original work based around Pirate101, please send it to us at community@pirate101.com.
This month’s fan art spotlight goes to Captain Marcus, who let us know he really enjoys a particular ship sail power.
In his own words, “I have been inspired by a ship sail spell power and I may not be the best of the artist, but the thing that matters the most is the image’s message...”
Thanks for this fun piece of fan art and for proudly declaring, “The Pirate’s Life is For Me!” If you feel the same way, we’d love to see more fan art from you! Thanks!
