February was a great month too with plenty of Valentine’s Day Items, including the new Care Hare! We also had a small update to fix a few troublesome bugs in game. We hope you enjoy being able now to redeem items from your giftbox on-the-fly instead of just when you first log in.

Rogue’s Gallery: Hoodoo Cornelius

Last month we revealed the mysteries of Nausica, a great companion who had little to no backstory. This month we’re continuing on with that theme and revealing a bit more about Hoodoo Cornelius from the Hoodoo Bundle! We hope you “go bananas” over this new tantalizing tid bit about his past.

Name: Hoodoo Cornelius

Profession: Voodoo Master

Home: Skull Island

Weapon of Choice: Mojo Staff

Cornelius Javier de Escarcega was once a humble monk of the Holy Church, an acolyte who had strong skills as a calligrapher, but who chafed under the strict monastic rules of his order. Sent to Skull Island to serve the Bishop in Puerto Mico, Cornelius took ship from Monquista City, excited to see this lush new world he had heard so many stories of.

While Cornelius did arrive in Skull Island, he never reached Puerto Mico. His ship was attacked by Cutthroat Pirates, who kidnapped the young scholar and bore him away to Cutthroat Cave. Cornelius was terrified that he’d be eaten, but the Sharks had a darker fate in mind for him.

The Cutthroats were locked in an ongoing war with the Monquistan navy – as Monquistan colonization continued, the Sharks were growing weaker as the Monkeys grew ever stronger. But Bert Finney had a cunning plan: he sought to make an alliance with Papa Legbones, a bokor of great and terrible mojo, hoping that the bokor’s magic would turn the tide.

The Sharks gave Cornelius to Legbones as an offering, a Monkey Legbones could work mighty spells on that would curse all Monkeys. But Papa Legbones had other ideas. He gave no help to the Cutthroats, and kept Cornelius for himself. Legbones taught Cornelius dark secrets that fired his imagination: as far as the monkey was concerned, Legbones had set him free. The Monkey became a powerful Witchdoctor, and many years later emerged from the shadows as a bokor to be feared.

Nano let us know why Bishop was their subject of choice, “Bishop is just...a lovely war strategist in the game. He's my favorite out of the Armada Court!” We agree! He’s an ominous character that’s one of our most memorable villains. Thanks for sending us your art!
