Pirate101 Producer's Letters

A Letter from The Frog Father

Ahoy me Piratey Privateers and Bold Buccaneers! Swing on over Swashbucklers, and have ye Witchdoctor friends sit for a spell as we take Musketeer’s aim at some recent Spiral news.

It's been just over a week since we released chapters 13 & 14 for the Pirate101 Spring update, and on behalf of the entire development team here at KingsIsle we hope everyone is very much enjoying the new content.

Whether you're a new Pirate fresh off the Tutorial, or a sky-savvy veteran scouring Marleybone for the next map piece, there will be plenty of adventure for Pirates at all levels.

And “plenty” really describes it. This release was a huge undertaking; in fact, the MB/ AQ update is the biggest one ever released in the Spiral. Artwork began last October while we were launching the game, and we’ve since created over 650 new characters, added 131 new quests across 200 new environments, addressed over 6,000 bugs and polish items, not to mention all the new Features, Ships, Powers, Items, Gear, Companions, Loot Chests, Boss battles…whew, I could use a glass of Yum right now - hard work makes a Pirate thirsty.

Please know we are always considering your feedback and will continue to improve the Pirate universe as best we can without interrupting your adventures. We very much appreciate your continuing enthusiasm, and it’s such a great feeling to share in your insight and creative suggestions across all the Forums. So many new worlds still to explore, but rest assured we are all part of the KI Community, and it is a special privilege for the KI Team to create Pirate101 for our mutual enjoyment.

And the Team remains fast at work on lots of brand new advanced content, additional improvements, and some pet projects we'll fill you in on a bit later – it should be a banner year and we’re very excited about what’s in store. Until then, let’s have some fun all the way from Skull Island to Aquila and see if we can’t piece together this El Dorado map mystery…before the Armada gets a hold of it first!

Have a fantastic summer me hearties (wear your sunscreen – red pirates are unhappy Pirates), and we’ll look for you in the Skyways with your flags hoisted high!

Yaaaaar!!!!!

Your Pirate Producer, Jay Gordon
