Welcome to the Game Update Notes section! Every time we update the online Pirate game, Pirate101, we like to let our players know what changes have been made and what's new with the game. Update Notes explain what's been changed and improved.
Many players have asked for several new Crown Shop items and features to be introduced into Pirate101 (including a few familiar items and systems from Wizard101). This update is sure to make you feel right at home! Read on to see what’s in store.
Gifting
That’s right--the ability to gift in Pirate101 has arrived! Players can choose to purchase an item from the Crown Shop and Gift that item to another player on their Friends list. Not all items are giftable, and only items purchased with Crowns (not gold) can be gifted.
Parents! This gift-giving feature is controlled through Parental Controls. Players over the age of 18 will be able to send Gifts to any other player on their Friends list. Players under the age of 18 will need to have this feature enabled through the Parental Controls on their account.
Class Housing
Sure, you’re a Pirate that lives to sail the skyways, but every pirate needs a place they can call home! Now whether you’re a Musketeer, Witchdoctor, Privateer, Swashbuckler, or Buccaneer, we’ve got five new huge mansions that are sure to fit your style!
Players will find these new houses on the Housing Tab of the Crown Shop for the cost of 10,000 Crowns each (or 100,000 gold if you’re a wealthy pirate). Even better, you don’t have to be a particular class to purchase one of these houses, so even a Musketeer can enjoy the majesty of the Swashbuckler’s “Rake's Lagoon.” Pair this with the already existing Additional House Elixir found in the Crown Shop and you can collect all the new class houses!
Each class house comes with a few unique tricks that you'll love discovering, from the boiling cauldron that stirs itself in the Witchdoctor's “Haunted Grotto” to the hidden panel that reveals a wall-sized fish tank in the Buccaneer’s “Skullrock Stronghold.” Can you find all the hidden activities inside each class house? Also, be sure to look for a PvP board in every Class house!
As per all our housing, these houses have space for 200 items outside and 200 items inside with ample room to decorate and show off your style. Housing space is expandable through the Bric-a-Brac Elixir in the Crown Shop.
Class Furniture Sets
Whether you’re looking for a class-themed bed, table, fish tank, or fruit bowl, we’ve got just the set for you! Be sure to check the furniture area of the Crown Shop to find these new sets. Three separate sets can be found for each class:
The Family Room Set
The Dining Room Set
The Bedroom Set
Each set will always give the same seven class themed-items upon purchase.
Housing Teleporters
We couldn’t give you all the new Class Houses without a fun way to travel around and between them all! Now introducing Housing Teleporters (available in the Crown Shop only) to Pirate101! Teleporters provide a quick way to travel between all of your houses without ever having to unequip or reequip a different house!
Here are a few hints to help you get started with your creativity using Teleporters:
Teleporters have an entrance and an exit.
When you first place a Teleporter through your Housing interface’s Decorating Panel, you are marking its exit.
Next, you will be prompted to actually place the Teleporter down so it can become the entrance.
You can place the entrance and exit in the same home.
You can also place the exit in one home and the Teleporter in another home.
NOTE: A character must own both homes because to do this you must place the exit, unequip the current house, equip the other house and recall to it to place the Teleporter.
You cannot place the exit or the Teleporter in someone else's home.
You cannot place the exit or the Teleporter in an area that is not a house or dorm owned by your character.
Other players visiting your home can also use the Teleporters.
Mini-Game Kiosks
Ever walked into your local Yum Tavern and thought you’d like one of those Mini-Game Tables for your player housing? Well now you can have one! We’ve added new Mini-Game Tables to the Crown Shop that feature your favorite Pirate101 mini-games. Now you can make your house your one stop shop for filling up on Yum, winning prizes, and enjoying a good game of Rat Attack or two.
Unstitching
Just a few short months ago, Eloise came to Pirate101 and began offering her services to stitch items. Now, Eloise will also offer her services of Unstitching items as well!
If you have items in your backpack that you've stitched, and you now wish to unstitch, simply visit Eloise in any world and select the 'Unstitch' option. You must have room in your backpack for the new items or you will not be able to unstitch. Note: this service does cost Crowns.
Ryan's Yum-n-ade
Ryan the Relentless has set up shop across from the Kraken Skulls Tavern and near the PvP Halls. He sells Yum-n-Ade to thirsty pirates for 100 gold to help boost their health back quickly.
Crown Shop
In addition to all the great features above, we’ve also made several other improvements and additions to the Crown Shop:
Tired of refueling? We’ve created a new extended fuel potion that will give a player a boost speed for 10 hours of game time!
Samocles is now unlocked in the Crown Shop by non-Swashbucklers completing the quest "Kitty!"
Separated the ship and ship equipment into separate tabs in the Crown Shop.
Separated the house and furniture items into separate tabs in the Crown Shop.
Elixirs will now show up in the Crown Shop even if the player cannot purchase them and will tell players why they cannot be purchased at the time (e.g., players will be able to see the Bric-a-Brac elixir but will be unable to purchase it unless they are inside the house they want to use it on).
Renamed "Extra House Space Potion" to "Additional House Elixir"
Along with class housing, we’ve lowered the prices of the two existing houses in the Crown Shop that don’t feature a PvP sigil.
General Repairs/Updates
We’re also using this update as an opportunity to fix a few bugs and make a few needed improvements:
Fixed a few minor game crashes and memory leaks and made general programming changes to improve game performance
Epic talents will now work regardless of the proximity of your companions to others with the same talents

Companions incorrectly named “Maxiums” will now be named “Maximus.”
Fixed a couple of hidden treasure chests in MooShu that weren’t appearing correctly (and added a few new hidden treasure chests as well).
Removed the Jungle Croks from the entry way of the Temple of Gloom and made those inside the Temple a little easier to defeat.
Adjusted the camera views of a few battleboards that were being blocked by objects and walls.
Added a missing map to the Millennium Raptor zone.
Fixed a bug that was causing Slashy bonuses to not be added properly to the “Slashy/Staffy” Cobra Set weapon.
Fixed a bug that was hiding the Rouged Puffer’s name from displaying.
Fixed Nestor’s Icon on the Nova Aquila map.
Players entering the Earth Temple in Mooshu will be a little closer to the ground.
Removed the ability to toggle on and off the Quest Arrow with Control+T.
Quest Changes
Players will once again be able to interact with the Gong during the side quest, "Paths of Penance."
The missing dialogue from Catbeard's courtroom scene during the quest "The Verdict" has been restored.
Players will no longer have to restart the encounter "Birdhouse of Pain" over if they defeat the second flock of Stymphalian Birds before collecting the Brazier.
Fix Piers McLaughlin's map icon for the quest "Stop and Render Aid!"
Players will no longer be able to ride their mount inside the Frogerale Jailhouse during the quest "Oh, You Kid!"
