Ending up outside the Windlane

When sailing from Skull Island Skyway to Flotsam Skyway using the yellow Windlane, you end up outside of the Windlane when the game shows you in Flotsam Skyway.

When I took that route today, it was working fine. It didn't work correctly (as noted above) the two previous times earlier this week.

There's a disturbance in the Force, err, I mean windlanes. I have found them treacherous of late as well.
