Baron Samedi's Masque not working

Ever since I got Baron Samedi's Masque it has not been triggering.just a report, I don't know if it has been working for anyone else, but it hasn't for me. If I may have missed something please comment on it, as even if it doesn't help I appreciate it.

To get the mask to work you must have a staffy weapon equipped. If you aren't a witchdoctor, you can use a staffy with a shooty/slashy/smashy/stabby combo ( see, I don't know what your class is so I included all weapon possibilities. )

The way it functions is that getting a kill result in summoning a ghost ally
