Here goes, It's the Moon.
Now for one I heard recently ( I'm not good at making up riddles ):
I'm more valuable than gold, yet I don't cost a penny,
I'm difficult to find but easy to lose.
What am I?

I got one:

The word has 7 letters.
It's greater than God,
More evil than the Devil,
And if you eat it you will die.

What is it?

What am I?
A friend or friendship? Perhaps...

Here's one I just came up with.

I can be very difficult to handle and even more terrifying to face...
I am feared by so many, yet often bring joy that can not be replaced.
I have made the strongest of men cry and even the saddest soul sing.
Cascading tears of both joy and sorrow, I am surely known to bring.

Here's one I heard the Riddler say once:

What can be cracked,
What can be made,
What can be told,
And what can be played?

The answer is a friend, very good. I need to really think about yours.

The closest I can think of is the truth, or maybe fire.
Also, I have one:
He who makes it tells of it not,
He who takes it knows it not,
He who knows it wants it not.

Here's a riddle from my childhood:
Little Nancy Etticot in a white petticoat,
And a red nose.
The longer she stands, the shorter she grows.

Well that would be a pretty good answer too, Esperanza. But the Cornelius of thy Voodoo was correct in saying 'the truth'. In all fairness though, since it was a 'just made up by me' riddle, it's not as cut-n-dry as some of the other ones and a little more open to interpretation.

And I can't believe it.....I thought for sure that I had guessed right about that Twinkie! Oh well, time to ponder some more riddles! Wait just a sec! Did you just answer with 'is it a fart?'

Decius' tarantula would be quite proud of that one!

Counterfeit money.

I've not seen this phrased exactly this way before, but it's surely a candle.

And now for mine:

My sides are firmly laced about, yet nothing is within;
you'll think my head is strange indeed, being nothing else but skin.
The better I serve, they beat me more:
to dance, to play, to speak, to war.

'Tis but something that my kids love to make the most horrifically loud, yet wonderful noise on.....all the time, along with some other overly loud accompaniment and off-key wailing.

If spelled backwards it rhymes with bird!
.
If the word is split in half it is an inquisitive and uncertain way to personally address a physician.
.
And it is also a way to use persistent efforts to obtain business and or support.

Oh wise and clever Ratbeard, yes, it is a candle. And it's now obvious that my answer ( of a fart ) was completely wrong.
