Having recently returned from glorious rebellion and victory in Monquista, the former Emperor Napoleguin has finally returned to his home: Polaris. With the defeat of Kane and his Armada, Napoleguin has suddenly found himself in the perfect position to make a comeback and re-take the throne of Polaris! With no one around to stop him, and with every world of the Spiral focusing on rebuilding what was destroyed by the scourge of the Armada, Napoleguin quickly gathers his still-loyal followers and radiply overruns and captures the capital of Polaris, Parish (Paris + fish )! Now, he is once again building his fleet, preparing Polaris for war, and every world from Marleybone to Monquista is terrified of declaring war, remembering what transpired last time. Meanwhile, Captain Avery has learned of an incredible treasure, housed inside the royal palace of Polaris itself: The Sword of Destiny, crafted from the finest Mooshu Steel, gilded in gold and silver, and encrusted with hundreds of sapphires. Legend says whoever wields it will forever be rich and powerful. Thus, Captain Avery has decided to send his most loyal pirate captain to retrieve the Sword......but little does Avery know that his young captain will play a crucial role in the final downfall of Emperor Napolegiun as the young captain ventures deep into the ice-cold heart of Polaris to retrieve the Sword of Destiny.
