I keep running into this annoying problem when my ship is about to get defeated and I quickly teleport to a friend nearby who is fighting the ships with me or sitting anywhere else in sight of the area. After I feel safe, I attempt to unbottle it, and then the game gets stubborn and doesn't let me unbottle my ship unless I exit the area or exit and rejoin the game.
