Best companions for a privateer?

So I have a lvl 20 buc, but it is starting to get a bit boring for me. I'm thinking about making a privateer but I'm not sure exactly how to play with one. I'll be standing in the back healing mainly right? So should I have strong companions like swashbucklers and bucs? Or maybe a musketeer?

Really have no idea, if you have experience with a privateer please suggest the best companions :) thank you!

I'm having a lot of fun with my level 16 Privateer but don't just stand back and heal at all. I do heal if need be, but it's not my primary function. I have two monkey companions (links below) and Rat Beard as my primary companions so far and haven't 'died' yet. :) I do switch out to Milo Graytail on occasion (link also below)...
