first mate follow in battle

you know how your first mate follows you around when your walking around right? well my weasel gambler i bought from the crown shop still was following me when i was fighting the bandits in mooshu for the key
(finally got it :D) it just happend once but it was kinda distracting so it was hard to pay attention and battle (still won though) can you fix this because its messing up my battles.

That happened too. My pet was actually in battle in the same place, but he was also following me. LOL
