Can I get scrip by defeating lower level ships?

Hey, I'm level 65 and I wanted some sort of knives that you can only get with scrip. The thing is I would rather eat dirt than do one pvp match. I'm really not a pvp person at all. So I heard you can get some scrip by defeating ships. So I'm nautical level 30 something, and if I sunk ships in Skull Island, would I get a good amount of scrip?

Your best options to get Scrip are to join other pirates in sinking the Escort Ships that appear with the Dreadnaught near Skull Island. None of the lowest level ships in Skull Island Skyway drop Scrip at all. At nautical Level 30, you should be able to pretty easily sink ships in Port Regal Skyway, which drop less Scrip, but you could sink them by yourself.

Get your Nautical Level up to Level 50 and start doing the Party Barge quests to earn gold. Save up 100,000 gold and buy yourself a Smuggler's Cove house. Visit the Wishing Well every day and you have a chance of up to 100 Scrip (you'll get gold most days). Also, fighting the Cutthroat Ships in Westminster Skyway is a great way to earn Scrip and ship equipment that you can sell for gold.

If you know anyone who owns a Smuggler's Arena, you can battle for Scrip, if you can survive through ten difficult battles.

Scrip alone won't get you those knives, you must also get the rank of Champion, however, there are quite powerful weapons available from the Dreadnaught or the Ashes of the Armada pack.

Scrip drops in SI are very, very rare, if you're currently without membership, then Willowydream's advice about the scout ships is best for you. Try getting with a group of players sinking those ships. You'll have a better chance of sinking a few and the nautical experience is worth it.
