Rogue's Gallery: Bonnie Anne
Here’s the sixth video in our Rogue’s Gallery video series with a closer look at everyone’s favorite companion, Bonnie Anne!
"Welcome to the Pirate101 Rogue’s Gallery. Subject, Bonnie Anne
Helpful, loyal, and kind are all words used to describe Bonnie Anne, who is a good friend to the pirates of Skull Island, but she also has an interesting past. Born Annie Fox, this bright-eyed Musketeer hails from Albion Skyway in Marleybone. Once a Radical fighter for Albion’s home rule, Bonnie Anne lost heart as the Troubles became more vicious and the vision of the Radicals was corrupted into endless vendetta. Annie cut ties with her family and was smuggled out of Marleybone to Skull Island by persons unknown. When asked about her trip or the details of her past, she refuses to talk about it.
Bonnie Anne arrived in Skull Island with only the clothes on her back, a strange sea chest by her side, and a rusty Thunderbuss over her shoulder. Captain Avery was quick to give her a job as a scout and marksman. Her mysterious sea chest was never seen again, but her trusty Thunderbuss has served her well against the constant threat of Troggy natives.
These pirates and more await you when you play for free at Pirate101.com."

Books for the Cultured Pirate
Ahh, Pirate friends! I can see you’ve come to me again searching for another book on being a Pirate. Well, I, Librarian Adelmo from Valencia, have just the thing to get you in the Pirating mood!
This month’s book is called The Book of Pirates: a Guide to Plundering, Pillaging, and other Pursuits by Jamaica Rose & Michael MacLeod. If you’re looking to talk like a pirate, dress like a pirate, sing sea shanties, and even play pirate games, this is the handbook just for you. Whether you want to get a head start on a great pirate Halloween costume or your whole family wants to spend the summer pretending to be a pirate crew, you'll be able to do it with what you learn in this book!
Hints from One Eyed Jack!
One of the greatest logistical challenges that our Pirates faced before the introduction of the Bazaar was definitely tracking down where to purchase a piece of Ship Equipment for your brand new ship. Every pirate has experienced that joyful moment when you get that brand new ship, only to realize that it’s the “bare bones” model and not too savvy a galleon to bring into broadside combat . . . just yet. In other words, a new ship is great to have, but without all the trimmings like a wheel, sails, horn, or figurehead and all the other bits and pieces you need to keep afloat, you’ll be swimming with the batacudas out in the skyways.
Yup! The bazaar has made it much easier now for all you pirates, and a good recommendation is to directly unbottle your brand new ship and promptly hit the Return to Skull Island button without delay! That’s right, head on down to Harvey’s Bazaar, press X to look at that tricky rabbit’s haul of goods, and shift a tab over to search on all the excess Ship Equipment he’s selling.
With your new ship unbottled, you’ll want to click the “Usable” radio button (on the top bar of the Bazaar window just under the top row of buttons) to make sure you’re only looking at ship equipment you can actually use and then buy what your pirate can afford to spare for spare parts. Personally, I sort the available ship items by gold or quantity (again on the top bar of the Bazaar window) and then purchase away! What used to be a sometimes difficult haul between vendors or an agonizing experience of farming ship after ship can get you a realitively well equipped new ship in no time flat!
Also, as a side thought, keep in mind that the Crown Shop Ship Equipment has a lower Nautical Level requirement than what you’ll find in the Bazaar. If your Nautical Level is lagging behind, you might find exactly what you need in the Crown Shop.
